From wherever you are: Go to Jones Falls, which is south on Highway 15; past Portland.

• If you are coming from the North, the right turn to Joans Falls is 21 Km past (south of) Portland on 15.
• Joans Falls Road is 8 Km past Elgin on 15.

 

When you are on Jones Falls Road, you will go just over 6 Km (from the turn off from 15) to Whitefish Lake Road where you will turn left. This is a dirt road. There is a sign for Whitefish Lake Road on the right shoulder just before the turn.

Once on Whitefish Lake Road it is almost precisely 2 Km to Dargavel Road (from Jones Falls Road) where you will turn left. There is a bird sign on each side of the road at this turn.

Proceed down Dargavel Road.

After about 300m down Dargavel, turn right (45 degree turn) onto lane marked with another bird sign. Proceed to dock on your left .. about 250 M or so and call me for a pickup. The dock is located where you first see the lake; in a V shaped bay. The name of the bay is Ubdegrove’s Bay named for the family who caused the islands name. They kept pigs there each summer; they fed on the acorns that fell from the oak trees.

Parking is on the gravel pad about 150m before the dock. We park on the left-hand side (half) of it. (This is not the gravel pad that is closer to the dock.)

When you turn onto Jones Falls Road call us for the pickup.
